Amethyst is a beautiful natural stone, a variety of quartz that is purple in colour thanks to it's unique deposits of iron which have been exposed to natural radiation in the earths crust.
Formed in volcanic rocks, each amethyst varies in depth of colour, striations and imperfections.

Rose Quartz is a beautiful semi-precious stone, which is generally a light pink in colour - but the depth & opacity of this colour can vary from stone to stone. Formed through the process of magma crystallization, Rose Quartz can be found in many countries, including Australia, Brazil, Sweden, Germany, Madagascar, and South Africa.

The colour of my strainer is white, a little disappointing however it functions perfectly. It is still cute.

As the crystals are natrually occuring stones, there is a lot of variation in the colour, inclusions and striations of each and every one. I love the crystal tea strainer. I'm always looking for ways to introduce crystals into everyday things, and this is a great way for my morning tea to have crystal influences. I might have to look into getting the amethyst one next time!
